    If you are
    unfamiliar
with Colwood tips message me and I will send you a chart  of the shapes of the tips and the info on Fixed Tip pens versus Replaceable tips. With Replaceable tips you won't save any money unless you plan to eventually buy more than 5 tips due to the cost of the handle and puller.

"How to Use Colwood WoodBurning Tools"
Here are the differences in the units as I see it:
The Cub, Detailer and SuperPro II all have the same transformer and same DC circuitry.
The Detailer and SuperPro II have the same heat control circuitry with a separate on/off switch so you can leave the heat set at the ideal # and still turn unit off with out disturbing that setting.
The Cub has a different heat control circuitry with the off being
integral to the heat control so that turning off always disturbs your heat setting and you will have to re-find that ideal heat level next time you turn it on. All units will get all pens red hot.
Some people that have used both a Cub and Detailer/SuperPro fell the rheostat on Detailer/SuperPro's are more heat sensitive which provides better control of the "brown" colors you can
    achieve
    .
    The
    SuperProII
has both a 14AWG  cord for extra heavy burning and a standard 16
    AWG
cord for normal burning.  However, only one pen can be hot at a time - a selector switch determines which cord you want to be hot.
    The Cub
    and
Detailer have one cord normally a 16
    AWG
cord but I can supply the Detailer with 14
    AWG
    cord if desired.
    If you on
    ly
    occasionally need
    heavy
duty burning such as on gourds a good choice is the Detailer with both a 16
    AWG
cord attached and an extra 14
    AWG
cord for when you need that
    extra
    heavy burning.
    Both the
    Detailer
    and
    SuperPro
    have
    terminals
    to easily change cords
    with
a screw driver.  The Cub must be
    disassembled
    and
    soldered
    to change-
    not
    easy.
The Cub has a different heat control
    rheostat
    with the "off" being
integral to the heat control so that turning "off" always disturbs your heat setting and you will have to re-establish that ideal heat level next time you turn it on. Of, course you can always unplug versus turning off.
If you are doing pictures on a flat board I recommend the Detailer Kit over the Cub.  If you are doing in-the-round birds and animals which will get painted then Cub is fine.  If you will be doing a lot of burning the SuperPro will save some time.
Please note:  accidental damage is not covered by warranty. The pen tips are delicate instruments, they will break if you drop them off a table.
