It provides well conditioned and AC isolated power to your Janus Rhodes preamp while giving you left and right 1/4" outputs which will work in any variety of amp, mixer, computer interface etc. All while conveniently clipping to the side of your Rhodes. We're really excited about offering this power supply / distribution box. We've spent months on R&D getting things right and making this product better and less expensive than anything else available. And it is. Here are some of the finer details: Power supply: We use a high quality power supply, fully tested and burned in. Most importantly it is housed in an independent enclosure. The biggest benefit of our design over other models is a very old concept in audio engineering - keep the AC away from the audio signal. And that's what we did. We put 5 feet of shielded copper cable between them. The power supply has a number of built-in protection circuits and we go one step further by adding a fast-blow fuse as a fail-safe. The power switch is illuminated by led when depressed. The enclosure is high strength ABS for safety and the internal pin connectors are secured with electronics grade silicone. Distribution box: We wanted to make something attractive but also unobtrusive. It clips neatly and securely to the side of your Rhodes. The clip is heavy duty plastic so you don't scratch your tolex! We used a right angle gx16 threaded port to introduce the DC power supply. To ensure a perfect connection we sourced the original matching right-angle plug from Switchcraft. The right-angled plug and the short distance around the corner to the box keeps your keyboard unobstructed. The outputs are dual-mono unless engaged with the vibrato in which case they will correctly produce the stereo pulse of that effect. Both outputs are American Switchcraft 1/4" jacks. Testing: We compared our RPS v1.3 to both original power/distribution and aftermarket supplies and it was by far the quietest. All the connections are hand soldered with high-quality solder on professional equipment using the best parts available. Even something as simple as the clips are carefully affixed and then aligned before riveting to account for any variation from the manufacturer.
