NOS DAIYA 10” COMET TIN FRICTION TRAIN W/WHISTLE & ORIG. BOX

Description

This is a very nice New Old Stock Daiya (Japan) tin litho working friction “Comet Train 5500” with whistle and original box.  Daiya and Made in Japan are imprinted on the rear of the train and on the box lid.  The detailed graphics and colors on the 10” train are outstanding.  The train is in new/unused condition and the friction works on this floor train as does a soft sounding whistle.  The 10 ¼” x 3 ¾” x 2 ½” box is nicely illustrated in bright and bold colors.  It is in vintage used condition with corner bumps, edge wear, minor creases, some with paper missing and about a 1” split on the top left of the Daiya trademark.  The Comet Train box states that it is with whistle and if you listen closely the friction makes a slight whistling sound.  Nothing detracts from the beauty of this early Japanese-made train with the original box.
