    Interesting vintage Tin Toy Fire Chief Car.  Pre-1969.   In 1969 the department of consumer affairs baned the sale of tin toys to children due to safety concerns about sharp edges etc.  Marx and other manufacturers of Tin Toys exported manufacture of these item in the late 1940's to Japan and Germany to assist them in rebuilding their economies.   When the ban went into effect these companies converted their production to plastic toys.   These old tin toys are becoming increasingly rare and are highly sought after.
