Piano Downbearing Check Gauge - Check Piano Bridge Downbearing

Description

The second shows the proper use of a downbearing gauge. By setting the left and center "feet" of the tool firmly on the string as shown, measurement can then be taken between the right foot and string below it (between the bridge and hitch pins) using a feeler gauge or caliper. A rock back and forth from this position indicates positive downbearing. If there is no rock, the downbearing is flat, or absent.
