    Description

    Real photograph postcard view of a street and buildings in Round Lake, Minnesota, by B. Wine (?), postmarked 1916 (Round Lake, Minn.).  The view, entitled Round Lake, Minn., At Night, shows a broad street lined on either side by one and two story commercial buildings. The dark street is illuminated by a dozen or more street lights, probably electric street lamps. One of them illuminates the front of the nearest building at right with words on the front that read (in part) A.F. Diehn, Hardware…Stoves. Round Lake is located in Jackson County and is very close to the border with Iowa. The postcard is in good condition with light wear and soiling. The photograph exhibits good tonal range and shows good or better detail—for a night view. A nice early Round Lake MN view!
