Description from SAS website:
The SXT-32 Stereo Crosspoint / Output Module contains all the electronic switches, output amplifiers and control circuitry for a stereo output channel.
CMOS switching is used to ensure low distortion and noise. The current mode circuit topology provides total isolation, eliminates 'punch through' and allows summation of any or all inputs to the output.
The output amplifiers are balanced and provide a low source impedance of 60 ohms, ideal for todays modern voltage distribution systems. The circuit is fully floating, maintaining output level even if one phase is inadvertently shorted to ground. Maximum output level is in excess of +28 dBu providing ample headroom in any installation.
An on board CMOS microprocessor controls the crosspoints and communicates directly with the output control panel over an RS-485 serial link. This direct communication path provides fast response and unsurpassed reliability. Communication with the frame controller is only necessary to respond to requests from X-Y panels or to pass information to another frame within a large system.
