    Description

    This is a set of Renner / Steinway hammers and shanks in clean and in good shape, without excessive use or grooves. They were removed from a Steinway A and should fit on a New York or Hamburg A or B without needing to be re-glued. Unlike the current Hamburg Steinway hammers, the underfelt is blue and the moldings are most likely kotibe. The switch from kotibe to other woods occurred sometime around 2000 on the Steinway-branded Renner-made hammers; however, in European catalog, Renner still sells hammers with kotibe moldings for Steinway pianos. There is a date stamp in German on one of the hammers (see photo).
